Project Details

This was a CD design cover for a Christian hip-hop ministry and its artists the “Mad Prophets”. This was taken in an abandoned back street on the east side of Detroit.

They wanted a really eery look. Most of the background was from the original shot except for the churches in the background. I next desaturated everything and then saturated it again using various tones of red and yellow to make up a sepia color effect.

The sunset sky was added along with the sketches of dead bodies and the bible scriptures on the street floor. Once again, PhotoShop works magic if you know how to use it.

I specifically love the perspective scaling tool because it allowed me to make it look as if they were walking on a bible page along with chalked-out remains of dead bodies. A very dark and gloomy cover. I no longer support hip-hop or Christian hip-hop.
